The Climate Adaptation Country Profiles are operational tools for adaptation, disaster risk management, and development practitioners to access just-in-time reference information on adaptation to climate change. The Climate Adaptation Country Profiles are geared toward providing a quick reference source for development practitioners to better integrate climate resilience into planning and operations. The profiles provide a common platform to access, synthesize, and analyze the most relevant data and information for disaster risk reduction and adaptation to climate change.
The Climate Adaptation Country Profiles are being developed as a response to partners’ needs for real-time access to basic climate change information. Through an integrated user friendly platform, one can explore, evaluate, and learn about disaster risk reduction in a changing climate at multiple levels of detail.
The current profiles integrate data from the World Bank, Global Facility for Disaster Recovery and Reconstruction (GFDRR), and Climate Investment Funds’ (CIF’s) Strategic Program Fund. Profiles include geospatial analysis, vulnerability mapping, risk analysis, and stakeholder engagement with global and country level open source data. New profiles will be posted as they become available in early 2012.
